Agreed! Although perhaps it would work better as a comm with a shared password and anon posting? To avoid another 10k limit? Not necessary, just a thought.
Comm with shared password is unnecessary complication at best, and very bad news in the worst case. And the task of choosing the maintainers would be exactly the opposite of fun.
The old thread was started in September 08 - I think we are okay with the 10k comment limit.
s_m, is there any chance you'd re-enable captcha prompting for all posts, anon and non-anon? It would be great to have captcha fic threads going in the Watchmen kinkmeme again.
I don't think I did it, the settings seem to be the same for both memes.
If it was - captchas get kind of annoying if you just want to comment on things, maybe I could make a seperate post for captcha fics so that everyone else doesn't have to bother with them?
Are there captcha-related options when you make a post? I haven't seen any, I thought it was just in the general Manage -> Privacy settings. Having the captcha fics inside the kinkmeme would be ideal, but we need something to link to where people can consistently get the captcha prompt.
I just started a new thread for captcha fics suggesting that people attempt replies in my own journal (general anti-spam enabled) in order to get prompted, but if you can make a dedicated post that ALWAYS prompts all commenters we could link to that instead.
It seems to be working on my journal - at least, when I tried posting while logged in to another account, I got prompted. But someone has pointed out that even in your journal you can force the prompt to appear by refreshing the reply page.
All I did to enable general anti-spam was click Manage on the blue LJ header bar (the actual word "Manage" not anything in the popup below), then the Privacy tab, then I set "Show CAPTCHA to all commenters". But if it doesn't work or you don't want captcha prompting all the time in your journal (totally understandable) we at least have some way for people to get the prompts, so we're good.
